Acura is the luxury division of the Honda motor company. First introduced in Hong Kong, Canada and the U.S. in 1986, it was designed to sell Hondas performance cars in a way that would set them apart from the regular Honda line of cars. They are designed to compete directly with cars such as the BMW and Lexus. The Japanese auto makers were originally known for exporting primarily economical, low cost cars. The Acura changed that forever.
